THE FINE ARTS OF YOUNG PROFESSIONALS. THE BIG CAUCASUS AND THE SOUTH OF RUSSIA: INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE IN NALCHIK

The Russian Academy of Arts, the Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts of the Russian Academy of Arts and the South Region Department of the Russian Academy of Arts under the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Kabardin-Balkar Republic invite you to take part in the Third International Research Conference  “The Fine Arts of Young Professionals. The Big Caucasus and the South of Russia”, that will take place in Nalchik in the Palace of Creativity of Children and Young People on October 16-17. 2024.

The Conference is part of the long-term project of the Russian Academy of Arts in the North-Caucasian Federal District “Traditions and Innovations in the Creative Work of Contemporary Artists of the North Caucasus” and continues the Academy activity for support and development of fine arts in the above region started in 2021.  

The topics to be discussed at the Conference:

-         Current aspects of fine arts in the creative work of young professional artists of the South region of Russia and nearby states: themes, subjects, formation of forms;

-         The role of younger generation of artists in preservation and development of traditional folk art;

-         The focus of professional art historians and art critics on works by young artists;

-         The role of museums and related entities in preservation and presentation of young  artists’ achievements;

-         Urgent problems of theory and history of art of the South region of Russia and the Big Caucasus;

-         Problems of academic art education in the South region of Russia and the Big Caucasus.
