THE VISIT OF THE CHINESE DELEGATION FROM THE SICHUAN ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS TO THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS

The Chinese delegation of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts has arrived on a visit to Russia fr om August 20 to August 23, 2024. This is a return visit of the Chinese colleagues: in July, 2024 the representatives of the Russian Academy of Arts visited China and Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts wh ere they learnt about the activity of its Institute of Fine Arts and Research Center, visited master classes and the Museum of Contemporary Art, participated in the opening of the exhibition of works by Academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts in the Chinese National Art Museum. They have also negotiated prospects for cooperation and organization of joint exhibitions. All the events will be arranged within the framework of the Cross Culture Year of Russia and China in honor of the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.
On August 20, 2024 the delegation of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts visited the Russian Academy of Arts. In the White Hall of the Academy (21 Prechistenka street, Moscow) the parties signed a Cooperation Agreement between the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts (China) and the Russian Academy of Arts.

The attendees have been greeted by the Director of the Department of the Regional Policy, Education and Project Management of the Culture Ministry of Russia Svetlana D. Yermakova and the First Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts Victor G. Kalinin. The joint meeting started with the video-film about the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. The Russian representatives provided detailed information about the main directions of art education in the major entities of the academic education system - V. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute and I. Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Mr. Tang Qinyan made a report about the criteria of new types of interaction between the artist and the viewer, introduction of forms of the Artificial Intelligence as an instrument for creation of artworks in China.
The Chinese delegation has also visited the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts (19 Prechistenka street, Moscow) and got acquainted with the permanent exposition of works by the People’s Artist of the USSR and Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli who has marked his 90th anniversary this year. The members of the delegations will continue their stay in Moscow at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (10 Gogolevsky Boulevard, Moscow). On August 21, 2024 at the Chinese Embassy in Moscow ( 6 Druzhba street, Moscow) there will be a seminar on the theme of attracting international talents to the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, as well as the delegation will go to V. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute where they will have a meeting with its Rector, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts Anatoly Lyubavin and the Pro-Rectors Svetlana A. Zenkova and Igor V. Gorbatyuk.
On August 22, 2024 the Chinese delegation will visit I. Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (17 University Embankment, St. Petersburg). The Academy’s Pro-Rector for Education, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Andrey N. Sklyarenko will show them the study rooms and diploma works of Russian and Chinese students who received art education in Russia testifying to their big achievements and high professional level. The program also includes sightseeing of St. Petersburg main attractions.
