GEOGRAPHY OF ART: INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE


 

The Russian Academy of Arts (RAA), the Institute of Cinema and TV (GITR), the Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INION RAS) and the Russian State University for the Humanities invite you to attend the 10th International Research Conference “Geography of Art”, that will take place on May 15, 2024 at the Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (51/21 Nakhimovsky Prospect, Moscow); on May 16-17, 2024 in the White Hall of the Russian Academy of Arts (21 Prechistenka street, Moscow); on May 19, 2024 in the online format.

 

The Conference deals with the territorial problems of culture and art, reflection of the geographical space in art, the role of local environment factors in the formation of art schools and artworks. It will focus on such themes as artistic perception of the cultural landscape, the significance of art in the creation of a cultural landscape and image of the territory, space concept in works of art. The Conference will be accompanied by publication of the collected papers “Geography of Art”.
