IN HONOR OF THE 80TH JUBILEE OF THE HONORARY MEMBER OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS BURKHARDT GOERES

On November 11, 2023 the German art historian, Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Burkhardt Goeres is marking his 80th jubilee. 

The art historian Burkhardt Goeres specializes in the study of Russian and German furniture and decorative and applied arts of the 17th – 19th centuries, as well as in the history of the Amber Room. In his researches he focuses on the interaction of Russian and German culture. For 13 years since 1983 he served as a Director of the Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts of the State Museum of Berlin, since 1996 till 2008 he was the Director of Museums and Collection of the Foundation “Prussian Castles and Gardens of Berlin-Brandenburg”. Burkhardt Goeres has been a constant participant of international research conferences including those organized by the Russian Academy of Arts.     

 The Presidium and the President of the Russian Academy Zurab Tsereteli have congratulated Mr. Burkhardt Goeres on his Jubilee:
