IN HONOR OF THE 70TH JUBILEE OF THE HONORARY MEMBER OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS YUKIO KONDO
On May 28, 2023 the eminent Japanese artist, master of Nihonga painting, Honorary Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Yukio Kondo is marking his 70th Jubilee.
The Russian Academy of Arts has congratulated the artist on his 70th Jubilee. The Letter of Greetings, in particular, runs:
“Dear Mr. Yukio Kondo,
The recognized master of Nihonga art, you have devoted your creative work to the themes of humanism and environment protection. Your words “the power of art can soothe the pain of the heart” have been implemented in many of your artworks. Your exhibition activity is striking in its scale including the major “Art For All’ project presented by your exhibitions and master classes in painting for physically challenged people in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. Your multi-sided, huge monochrome canvases, animal paintings, portraits are full of love for nature, strive for harmony and overcoming the barriers separating people.
