The Russian Academy Of Arts

On September 7, 2022 the Kazakhstan master of tapestries, artist-monumentalist Malik Mukanov is marking his 50th jubilee.

The Presidium and President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli have congratulated the master on his Jubilee. The Letter of Congratulations, in particular, runs:

     “You are a talented successor of artistic traditions of the Mukanov family. In your works are implemented the ideas and symbols of the Tengrian mythology and Turkic people, the connection of the earthly and the heavenly. The unique pictorial language of your tapestries contains a great variety of topics and images of the traditional nomadic culture.

    Seeing your mission in preservation of the national epic and culture, you devote a lot of efforts to teaching creative disciplines and promotion of young artists. Your exhibitions brilliantly presenting the art of Kazakhstan enjoy continued success in various countries. 

     On behalf of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts I would like to congratulate you on your 50th anniversary and wish you good health, fruitful development of your unique tapestry school, successful realization of your creative plans and family well-being”.
