IN HONOR OF THE 70TH JUBILEE OF THE HONORARY MEMBER OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS HRISTO PANEV
On May 04, 2022 the Bulgarian artist, Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Hristo Panev is marking his 70th jubilee.
Hristo Panev was born in the Krepost village of Haskovo region in Bulgaria, graduated from the University of St. Kirill and St. Methodius in Veliko Tarnovo. The range of the artist’s professional activity is vast: he works in graphics, book illustrations, painting and monumental art. Among his main topics are Biblical scenes, ancient mythology, seasons, childhood reminiscences. In the artist’s works one can feel the influence of Bulgarian icons and frescoes that makes it possible to
attribute his works to the old tradition of Byzantine art. “The meaning of life is in the perfection of human spirit and the highest manifestation of the spirit is art through which in the moments of inspiration an artist is appealing to God”, - says the master about his creativity.
The Presidium and President of the Russian Academy of Arts have congratulated Hristo Panev on his 70th jubilee. The Letter of Greetings, in particular, runs:
“You are one of the most celebrated Bulgarian contemporary artists who is known in many countries. Your art distinguished by genre and theme diversity, rich pictorial palette has been presented at numerous solo and international exhibitions in cities of Bulgaria and other countries. The graphic artist, painter, illustrator, author of monumental works you create your masterpieces as a freelance artist for whom to create means to live.
I wish you good health, inexhaustible inspiration, every success and prosperity to all members of your creative family”.
