IN HONOR OF THE 70TH JUBILEE OF THE FOREIGN HONORARY MEMBER OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS AZAT BAYARLIN
On March 12, 2022 the Kazakh sculptor, Member of the Artists’ Union of Kazakhstan, Member of the Canada Sculpture Association, Honorary Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Azat Bayarlin is marking his 70th jubilee.
Azat Bayarlin has graduated fr om I. Repin State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad, later upgraded hid skills in the Creative Workshops of the Siberian and Far East Department of the USSR Academy of Arts. Traditions of classical sculpture combined with the national vision of sculptural forms are distinctive features of Bayarlin’s oeuvre. He successfully works both in easel and monumental sculpture. Among the artist’s main characters are representatives of intellectuals, eminent people of his native land, participants of the Great Patriotic War.
The Presidium and President of the Russian Academy of Arts congratulated Azat Bayarlin on his 70th jubilee. The Letter of Greetings, in particular, runs:
“You are one of the leading masters of Kazakhstan. Your personality as an artist has been formed under the beneficial influence of the Russian realistic school and simultaneous study of the creative experience of national sculptors of Kazakhstan. Starting from your student years you have been an active participant in major exhibitions wh ere your works enjoyed great success with the public. You have been a winner of various art competitions and are a holder of many prizes and awards. Working in easel, landscape and park sculpture you have authored of a lot of monumental sculptural compositions. You are interested in diverse themes and are in constant search of expressive means for their implementation. Your monuments to heroes of the Great Patriotic War, diseased employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, victims of the Chernobyl tragedy, victims of the political purges are devoted to our memory of their heroic deeds. In your works you emphasize the civic idea, traits of the national character and create psychological images of national heroes.
The Russian Academy of Arts highly appreciates your significant contribution to the promotion of Kazakh art and culture. We wish you good health and new creative achievements”.
