He became famous after the victory at the "Guido Cantelli Competition for Conductors" in Milan in 1967. The Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts and I personally cordially congratulate you, the elected Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, on your significant Jubilee!
Your conducting art is a precious gem of modern culture. Having inherited and continuing the eternal traditions of the great masters of Italian music and theater, you have brought a new intellectual takeoff to the art world by enthusiastically interpreting the opera and symphonic classics, including music of Russian composers. With your inherent depth and sophistication, sensuality and rigor you perform works of Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky embodying the versatility of modern spirituality.
Maestro Muti, we wish you Beethoven's joy and Mozart's creativity in life!
