“On June 06, 2021 passed away the Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Revaz Gabriadze, one of the most distinguished representatives of the creative intellectuals of his time, artist, sculptor, theater and cinema director, writer and playwright, our colleague and friend.
The world culture has suffered a great loss. Maestro Rezo Gabriadze is an author of cult films of the Georgian cinema, founder of the unique world famous Marionette Theater and the whole galaxy of first-class performances that enriched the treasury of world culture and art. For more than 30 years, his performances have been shown in many countries and participated in major international theater festivals. About his favorite Marionette Theater Rezo Gabriadze said: “My dream has come true – I went back to painting and sculpture and that is forever”. The artist’s paintings, graphic and sculptural works have been exhibited worldwide and are in state and private collections in the United States, Georgia, Russia, Germany, Israel, France and Japan. The holder of numerous international honors and awards, the great artist, designer, sculptor and master of book illustrations, the man of great charm and deep inner culture Rezo Gabriadze has become part of the pleiad of modern culture’s eminent figures.
