THE WORLD OF ART: MASTERS. HISTORY. PROBLEMS: RESEARCH CONFERENCE AT THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS

The Russian Academy of Arts and the Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts of the RAA invite you to take part in the research conference “The World of Art: Masters. History. Problems”, that will take place at the Russian Academy of Arts (21 Prechistenka street, Moscow) on April 22-23, 2020.

 

The Conference is dedicated to the World of Art artistic movement set up in St. Petersburg in 1898 that made a significant impact on the development of Russian art at the turn of the 20th century. Among its founders are such distinguished artists as Leo Bakst (1866-1924), Konstantin Somov (1869-1939), Stepan Yaremich (1869-1939), Alexander Benois (1870-1960), Anna Ostroumova-Lebedeva (1871-1955), Mstislav Dobuzhinsky (1875-1957), Eugene Lanceray (1875-1946), Ivan Bilibin (1876-1942). The Conference deals with the interaction of the historical legacy with achievements of contemporary Russian and Western European art.

 

The applications and abstracts of the papers shall be sent to rusartah@gmail.com not later than April 1, 2020. The Organizing Committee is entitled to reject the applications not relevant to the aims of the Conference. The accommodation and travel expenses are the responsibility of the sending party.
