RUSSIAN CONSTRUCTIVISM. CURRENT TRENDS IN STUDY: INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE
The Russian Academy of Arts and the Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Arts invite you to take part in the International Research Conference “Russian Constructivism. Current Trends in Study", that will take place at the Russian Academy of Arts on November 14-15, 2019.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee is Georgi Kovalenko, Doctor of Art History, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Head of the 20th Century Russian Art Department of the Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts of the Russian Academy of Arts.
The Russian constructivism is a significant phenomenon of world art culture. For a century it has become an object of constant interest of study for scientists from various research areas: art historians, philosophers, sociologists and cultural scientists. Unfortunately, in Russia in the 2010s Russian constructivism as a field of interdisciplinary studies has not developed a platform for systematic presentation of the results of such researches. This Conference is aimed at providing a possibility for sharing new materials dedicated to various art trends and types of Russian constructivism, determining the current state of theory and researches of Russian constructivism, as well as laying the foundation for further studies and development of art educational programs.
The Conference priority directions:
- individual practices of artists of Russian constructivism;
- the history of art form development in the context of Russian constructivism;
- the international context of the development and artistic connections of Russian constructivism;
- the influence of Russian constructivism on art practices of masters of the 20th-21st centuries.
