UNVEILING OF THE BUST OF THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF RUSSIA BORIS YELTSIN IN MOSCOW
On April 23, 2018 in Moscow in the courtyard of the Russian Military Historical Society in the Alley of Rulers (4 Petroverigsky Pereulok) was unveiled a bust of the first Russian President Boris Yeltsin. The ceremony held on the memory day of Boris Yeltsin was attended by members of his family, the Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, President of the Russian Academy of Arts and author of the sculpture Zurab Tsereteli.
The project of the Alley of Rulers in Moscow initiated by the Russian Military Historical Society for educational purposes was unveiled in May of 2017 when there was a presentation of 33 busts of Russian rulers from Grand Princes of the ancient Russia to figures of the Provisional Government of the Revolution. In September, 2017 the cycle was enriched by busts of leaders of the Soviet State. The bust of Boris Yeltsin became the 43rd sculptural portrait in the Alley. The author of all the sculptural images is the People’s Artist of the USSR and Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli.
