In Moscow Was Unveiled a Memorial Plaque Commemorating Mstislav Rostropovich and Galina Vishnevskaya
On March 27, 2017 in Moscow there was an unveiling ceremony for a memorial plaque commemorating the world renowned cellist and conductor Mstislav Rostropovich (1927-2007) and his spouse, eminent opera singer Galina Vishnevskaya (1926-2012) installed on the façade of the house in Gazetny Pereulok where they lived. The ceremony took place on the day of the 90th birth anniversary of Mstislav Rostropovich.
The memorial plaque has been designed by the celebrated sculptor, People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Alexander Rukavishnikov and sponsored by Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation.
