On February 16, 2017 at the Theater Center “Na Strastnom” (8a Strastnoy Boulevard, Moscow) there was a presentation of the book “A Flash of Bella. The Romantic Chronicle” published at the end of 2016 by the publishing house AST and timed to the upcoming 80th birth anniversary of Bella Akhmadulina.

The memoirs of the renowned set designer and graphic artist Boris Messerer – son of the eminent ballet soloist, choreographer Asaf Messerer and actress of silent cinema Ninel Sudakevich, brother of the great ballet dancer Maya Plisetskaya begin from his childhood  and span more than a half of the 20th  and the first decades of the 21st century. The book contains unique evidences of the turbulent public and political, theatrical, literature and art life of the time and rare photographs from the author’s private archive.  

The presentation will be accompanied by an exhibition of portraits of Bella Akhmadulina  created by Boris Messerer in various years.
