The President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli Was Actively Involved in the Events in Honor of the 250th Anniversary of the State Hermitage
The President of the Russian Academy of Arts, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Zurab Tsereteli was actively involved in the Third St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum “MAN. CULTURE. PEACE. IN HONOR OF THE 250TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE STATE HERMITAGE”.
Within the framework of the Forum Zurab Tsereteli had a meeting with the UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, the Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky. In 2014 we marked 60 years of Membership of the Russian Federation in UNESCO and in the year 2015 there will be the 70th anniversary of this Organization. During the jubilee events in honor of the 250th anniversary of the State Hermitage Irina Bokova met with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and highly appreciated the fruitful partnership of Russia with UNESCO. She also said: “Zurab Tsereteli presented UNESCO as a gift from Russia a very talented and inquisitive sculptural composition that we would like to place on the foreground of UNESCO. I would like to thank you for this monument”.
Zurab Tsereteli and Irina Bokova visited I. Repin St. Petersburg State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts.
In Tavrichesky Palace – St. Petersburg office of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Zurab Tsereteli was presented with the certificate of honor of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member States “for his active involvement in the Days of Belarus Culture in Tavrichesky Palace”.
