Unveiling of the Monument to the Russian Poet Bella Akhmadulina Designed by Boris Messerer in Moscow
The monument is his dedication to the most beloved woman in his life - wife, friend, colleague, like-minded person. It is the spiritual closeness that explains the naturalness and inspiration of Bella Akhmadulina’s sculptural image. At the same time Boris Messerer has managed to express our mutual adoration of the poetic genius of this unique multi-sided creative personality – the bright star of Russian literature of the second half of the 20th – early 21st century.
On the same day friends and colleagues of Bella Akhmadulina gathered in A. Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts to share their reminiscences of her – Irina Antonova, Andrey Bitov, Chulpan Khamatova, Yury Rost, Evgeny Rein and others. At the meeting there was a presentation of the new two-volume book-album by Boris Messerer “The Theater of Boris Messerer”. In the introductory word to this edition Academician E. Kocherghin named Boris Messerer “a pioneer of the scenographic revolution of the 1960-1970-s who managed to remain himself - a grand artist-master”.
