Monument to Catherine II by Alexander Burganov Was Unveiled in Yasnogorsk
The monument to the Russian Empress Catherine II was unveiled in Yasnogorsk of the Tula Region. The unveiling ceremony on August 15, 2014 was attended by the Governor of the Tula Region V.S. Gruzdev. The sculptural composition in the form of a rotunda with the sculpture of the Empress inside has been produced of reinforced fiberglass plastic.
The author of the monument is Alexander Burganov, a world renowned sculptor, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts whose monuments found their home in many major cities of Russia and other countries.
