The Russian Academy Of Arts

On September 30, 2013 the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli presented the Lebanese artist, art historian and public figure Nizar Daher with the regalia of an Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts.

Nizar M. Daher was born in 1951 in Beirut (Lebanon). In 1983 he graduated fr om I. Repin St. Petersburg State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture wh ere her majored in painting, since 1992 Nizar Daher has been a Professor of the Art Department of the Lebanese University. Internationally recognized the artist is known for his brilliant landscapes inspired by his native Lebanon, he is a frequent participant of group and solo exhibitions in Lebanon and many other countries, his works are in museum and private collections in Canada, the United States, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria and others. Nizar Daher is actively involved in public and cultural activity in Lebanon, he is an advisor to the Culture Minister, Head of the Russian-Lebanese House, a member of a number of Lebanese commissions on art.
