Through the decree of the Russian President Vladimir Putin dated April 22, 2013 the People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Theatrical and Cinema Decorative Art of the Russian Academy of Arts Boris Messerer was awarded the Order of Friendship for his significant contribution to the promotion of Russian culture and art, as well as his life-time achievements.
