The Russian Academy Of Arts

On September 1, 2011 in the atrium of Tsereteli Art Gallery there was a celebration of the Day of Knowledge dedicated to the beginning of the school year in the Moscow State Academy Art Lyceum. The President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli welcomed the students and attendees and presented the Academy awards to the best teachers of the Lyceum.

The Chief Scientific Secretary of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts Oleg Koshkin, Vice-President of the Academy Lev Shepelev, Director of the Lyceum Alexander Yastrebenetsky, teachers of V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute whished the students success in their mastering the skills in painting and sculpture.

The preservation of traditions and promotion of Russian art education are one of the main directions of the Academy’s activity. The Academy offers a three-step system of art education including a lyceum, an institute and work experience in the Academy’s creative workshops. The development of creativity and upbringing of a many-sided personality are the priorities in the training of students. The Academy upgrades teaching methods, works on theoretical problems of art education, arranges master classes of leading Russian and foreign artists involving students in the live creative process.

The event was accompanied by a photo exhibition about the activity of the Moscow State Academy Art Lyceum.
