The Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has congratulated the People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Gennady Pravotorov on his 70th anniversary.

The telegram, in particular, runs:

“Dear Gennady Ivanovich,

I would like to extend to you my congratulations and best wishes on your 70th jubilee. A renowned artist and sculptor, you have created dozens of distinguished works commemorating historical events and eminent citizens of Russia.

Your artworks, among which are medals, reliefs, memorial plaques have been honored with prestigious professional awards. Many of them are in collections of major museums in Russia.
