On March 4, 2011 in the Museo di San Salvatore in Lauro in Rome there was an opening of a solo exhibition of works by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts, People’s Artist of the USSR and the Russian Federation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Zurab Tsereteli. This show is the second exhibition project of the artist in Italy within the framework of the Year of Russian Culture and Language in Italy. The program of events of Russia-Italy Cross Culture Year started on January 28, 2011 with the exhibition of Zurab Tsereteli in Palermo.
On display are several dozens of paintings and graphic works, as well as sculptures executed in Zurab Tsereteli’s distinguished style inspired by the work of Marc Chagall and Pablo Picasso. “Between the Reality, Dream and Fantasy” – that is the definition given to the exhibition by the Italian art historian and critic Francesco Gallo Mazzeo.
