Grants Were Presented to Senior Students of the Academy Lyceum at the Session of the Russian Academy of Arts

At the session of the Russian Academy of Arts on September 14, 2010 twelve senior students of the Moscow State Academy Art Lyceum were presented with grants to study art in Italy in the autumn of 2010. The grant “For the Revival of Classical Traditions of Russian Painting” has been set up by the Borodin Meat House company within the framework of its long-term charitable partnership with the Moscow State Academy Art Lyceum.

The grant is presented to senior students. Its aim is to promote young talents and creative initiatives in the field of culture and arts. This charitable project reviving the traditions of patronage and academic scholarships has been supported by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli.

The twelve senior students who received the grants are winners of the competition for the above grant according to the results of 2009-2010 school year. During their practice in Italy this autumn they will create a series of works on the topic “Russian Rome” and have a good opportunity to get acquainted with masterpieces of classical art in Rome.

Besides, at the session of the Presidium, the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Shilov was presented with the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts for his significant creative achievements, as well as members of the Presidium congratulated their colleague Lyubov Savelieva on the title of the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation recently awarded to her.
