Portrait of the Prominent Russian Scientist Gury Marchuk Has Become a Part of the Portrait Gallery of Outstanding Scientists at the Russian Academy of Sciences
The portrait of Gury Marchuk, the prominent Russian scientist in the fields of computational mathematics and physics of atmosphere, President of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1986-1991 has been created by the People’s Artist of Russia Vasily Nesterenko. The handover ceremony at the building of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences was attended by President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli and President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yury Osipov.
The Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Vasily Nesterenko is well-known as an author of many historical canvases glorifying victories and spiritual power of the Russian nation, portraits of Russian eminent figures of science and arts, landscapes of his homeland.
