The Bronze Doors of the Mausoleum of Prince Dmitry Pozharsky in Suzdal have been recreated by Zurab Tsereteli

The President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli has recreated without indemnity the bronze doors of the mausoleum of the eminent Russian commander Prince Dmitry Pozharsky who set Moscow free from invaders in the Time of Troubles, as the Director General of the Suzdal Museum-Preserve Alisa Aksenova informed at the press-conference in Vladimir on October 22, 2009. She expressed her gratitude to the renowned sculptor for his noble action.

 

The restored mausoleum is an exact replica of the original destroyed in the 1930s. The unveiling ceremony is planned to take place on the National Unity Day in Russia on November 4, 2009.
