Zurab Tsereteli Has Been Elected a Full Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts

The President of the Russian Academy of Arts, People’s Artist of Russia, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Zurab Tsereteli has been elected a Full Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. The Festive Plenary Session where his membership certificate will be presented to him will take place in Salzburg in Max Gandolph Bibliothek on March 7, 2009.
 
The European Academy of Sciences and Arts has over 1200 members. The most prominent members are His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI and 27 Nobel Prize winners. The Academy is a transnational, interdisciplinary body which especially works on European issues.   

The Academy consists of seven classes: Humanities; Medicine; Arts; Natural Sciences, Social Sciences/Law and Economics, Technical and Environmental Sciences; World Religions.

The election of Zurab Tsereteli as a Full Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts is a recognition of his outstanding role in promotion of fine arts.

In his reply letter, Zurab Tsereteli expressed his gratitude to the President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Professor, Dr. Felix Unger for the high honor and appreciation of his work. 

Zurab Tsereteli is also a Corresponding Member of the French Academy of Fine Arts in Paris and  Spanish San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid.
