From Ancient Russia to New Russia: the 3rd All-Russian Art Competition of Historical Works

The Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Vyacheslav Zhelvakov,  Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Alexander Teslik, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, pro-rector of V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute Anatoli Lyubavin, Honored Artist of Russia  Igor Mashkov have participated in the session of the organizing committee of the 3rd All- Russian Art Competition of Historical Works: From Ancient Russia to New Russia.

It was held in the Pilgrim Center of the Moscow Patriarchate and attended by Bishop Marc of Egorievsk, chairman of the organizing committee, Deputy Head of the Department for External Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate and S.Y.  Zhitenev,  Director-General of the Pilgrim Center.

The members of the organizing committee have selected finalists of the Competition in six nominations: history of Russia; history of the Russian Orthodox Church; topics of the Holy Scripture; war and patriotic theme; historical portrait; historical landscape.  The award ceremony will take place at the 7th  ecclesiastical and public exhibition-forum “Orthodox Russia: in Honor of the Day of Reconciliation and Consent”  in Manezh Central Exhibition Hall on November 8-12, 2008. 

The annual All-Russian Competition of Historical Works: From Ancient Russia to New Russia is arranged in association with the Russian Artists’ Union under the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture and Mass Communications, Federal Agency for Culture and Cinema within the framework  of the exhibition-forum “Orthodox Russia: in Honor of the Day of Reconciliation and Consent”.
