Graphic Works by Artists from Krasnoyarsk Were Presented as a Gift to the Museum in Tskhinval

The People’s Artist of Russia,  Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts German Pashtov and representatives of Krasnoyarsk Studio of Xylography presented 40 graphic works as a gift to the Local History Museum in Tskhinval, South Ossetia. The action was arranged with the assistance of the Ministry for Emergency Situations. 

The presentation of graphic works and a collection of books on xylography took place in the building of the Government of South Ossetia on October 21, 2008.  The Deputy Head of the Government Eleanor Bedoeva and Deputy Minister of Culture Juliet Djeiranova thanked representatives of all Russian regions who “after the war aggression of Georgia  against South Ossetia provided their support to the Republic”.  Eleanor Bedoeva noted that the humanitarian assistance in the form of artworks was delivered to South Ossetia for the first time.   

German Pashtov, founder and head of the Graphic Art Workshop of the Russian Academy of Arts in Krasnoyarsk expressed his hope, that the action would serve for the benefit of this and future generations. “The Russian Academy of Arts gives efficient support to our Studio and as a representative of the Academy I have brought works by our talented young artists to South Ossetia. If the art of xylography is of interest to young people in South Ossetia and is going to be promoted here, this will be our contribution to the art that is so much needed to people” -  said German Pashtov.
