In Honor of the 250th Anniversary of the Russian Academy of Arts Museum in St. Petersburg: Album-Catalogue of the 17th – Early 20th Century Paintings and Drawings From the Museum Collection and Funds

The Album-Catalogue of the 17th – 20th Century Paintings and Drawings from the collection and funds of the Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts has been published in honor of its 250th anniversary in a series “Treasures of Russian Art” by the White City publishing house. The book edited by Veronika Bogdan contains 126 illustrations representing paintings and drawings by Russian and European masters that are the highlights of the Museum’s collection.

Veronika Bogdan traces the history of the Museum’s collection since 1758, gives an account of the artworks that are most significant for the Russian art school, focuses on the most important stages of training at the Imperial Academy of Arts and its  Higher Art School.  The readers will see graphic art of the leading figures of Russian art Anton Losenko, Peter Sokolov, Alexei Egorov, Ivan Kramskoy, paintings by Konstantin Flavitsky, Ivan Repin, Konstantin Savitski, Stepan Bakalovich,  Vasili Polenov, Nikolai Rerikh, Boris Kustodiev.
