In Moscow Was Unveiled a Monument to Designer of Rocket and Space Technology Sergei Korolev
On September 3, 2008 the bronze monument to Sergei Korolev, founder of Russian space program was set up as a centerpiece of the renovated Alley of Spacemen at VDNH subway station in Moscow. It has been designed by Salavat Scherbakov and Sergei Scherbakov in association with members of Korolev’s family and his friends.
The dedication ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov, Head of Federal Space Agency Anatoli Perminov, members of Korolev’s family, academician Boris Chertok, first woman astronaut Valentina Tereshkova, Russian spacemen.
