The Russian Academy Of Arts

On November 24-25, 2008 the Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts, 17 University Embankment, St. Petersburg will host a research conference commemorating the 250th anniversary of the oldest in Russia art museum.

The inauguration of the Conference will be preceded by a ceremony for handover of a unique stained glass “Christ the Almighty” (manufactured by F.X. Zettler) to the collection of the Academy Museum after its restoration.

Art historians and researchers from the State Hermitage, State Russian Museum, the Academy Research Museum and Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts,   the State Fine Arts Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Vyatka State University, I. Repin State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture will speak on topics connected with the history of the Academy Museum and its holdings as well as on a wide range of themes relating to the development of Russian art, the role and impact of the Russian Academy of Arts on Russian culture.
