Award Ceremony for Philanthropist International Prize in Tsereteli Art Gallery

The ceremony of Philanthropist International Prize awarding will be held in Tsereteli Art Gallery, 21 Prechistenka street, Moscow on May 24, 2008. The Prize, unique in the world, is awarded to physically challenged people for their prominent achievements in culture and arts. It is financed entirely from private funds thus maintaining the Russian traditions of philanthropy and patrons of art.  

The award ceremony, the fifth one since its establishment, will be attended by Joseph Kobzon, Head of the Jury, People’s Artist of USSR; A. Lomakin-Rumyantsev, Chairman of the Organizing Committee; members of the Prize Jury and Board of Trustees, officials from the Government of the Russian Federation, Moscow Government, representatives of public entities for disabled people. 

There have been 1327 competitors for the Prize from eight countries and 78 regions of Russia. Forty three laureates will receive the award in the following nominations: performing arts; fine arts; literature; for preservation of folklore traditions and handicraft; for innovations in creative work; overcoming; growing prospects.
