Tsereteli Does Not Work On a Monument to Victims of the Famine in 1932-1933
On April 11, 2008 in an interview to INTERFAX reporter President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli informed, that he had not sculpted a monument to victims of the famine in 1932-1933.
The sculptor thus commented the words by the Chief Architect of Kharkov Region Yuri Shkodovskoi about his current work on the above monument.
Quoting the artist himself, “my monument to the legendary Cossack Kharko has found its home in Kharkov, Ukraine and has been much appreciated by residents of the city. There have been no other commissions from the city of Kharkov”.
