Order of Friendship Was Awarded to the Permanent Secretary of the French Academy of Fine Arts Arnaud d’ Hauterives
The Permanent Secretary of the French Academy of Fine Arts Arnaud d’ Hauterives has been awarded the Order of Friendship through an edict of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for his significant role in fostering bilateral relations between Russia and France.
The Order was presented to Mr. Arnaud d’Hauterives in the Residence of the Russian Ambassador to France on January 24, 2008 at the ceremony attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in France Alexander Avdeev and President of the Russian Academy of Arts, Corresponding Member of the French Academy of Fine Arts, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Zurab Tsereteli.
Arnaud d’Hauterives is one of the first foreign artists to be elected an Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts. A man of versatile interests, a connoisseur of history and world culture, a gifted artist, he is among those few masters of fine arts who have been awarded this high Russian governmental honor. Arnaud d’Hauterives is a winner of the most prestigious prizes in fine arts, President of the Association of French Artists. His works are in collections of the biggest world museums and have been displayed in Russia, the United States, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Canada, Brazil, China, Japan and other nations.
The Russian Academy of Arts and the French Academy of Fine Arts have longtime creative ties. The French Academy of Fine Arts is one of the oldest academies in Europe. The French artists have made a significant contribution to the formation of the Imperial Academy of Arts in Russia and had a profound effect on the elaboration of Russian academic art school.
