The Russian Academy Of Arts

On September 12-13, 2008 the city of Vologda hosted an All-Russian Research Conference on Modern Russian Folk Art: Traditions and Today organized by Vologda Region Government, Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts and Artists’ Union of Russia.

At the Conference were discussed urgent problems of today’s folk art, possibilities of holding up and promotion of traditions of Russian folk crafts. The Conference finalized an All-Russian exhibition devoted to modern Russian folk art that was on display in Vologda.
