Vladimir Putin had a meeting with members of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts
The meeting focused on preparation for the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian Academy of Arts, as well as on problems of art education in modern Russia.
The meeting was attended by Zurab Tsereteli, President of the Russian Academy of Arts; A. Bichukov, Vice-President of the Academy and Head of V.I. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute; A. Charkin, member of the Academy Presidium and Head of I.E. Repin St. Petersburg State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture; M. Kurilko-Ryumin, Scientific Secretary of the Academy; T. Salakhov, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts.
Before the meeting President Putin talked with students learning basics of painting in the Academy.
