The Russian Academy Of Arts

  On December, 4, 2006 the press-conference, dedicated to the opening of the monument to Pope Ioann Pavel II, created by the President of Russian Academy of Arts, People’s artist of Russian Federation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Zurab Tsereteli took place.

   Ceremonial opening and the blessing of the monument will take place on December, 10, 2006 at the French town Ploermel (Bretagne).

   At the press-conference the sculptor presented the model of the monument, compositions on biblical subjects, subjects of New and Old Testament, executed in different periods of time in various techniques and materials, and also the number of other important works, dedicated to the images of Saint heroes and figures of Christian church.

   Representatives of the Vatican’s, French, Italian, Spanish, German Embassies were invited to the meeting.

    Press-conference took place at the museum exhibitional complex of Russian Academy of Arts “ZurabTsereteli’s Art Gallery” (Prechistenka str., 19).
