THE FOUR SEASONS: SOLO EXHIBITION OF WORKS BY THE CORRESPONDING MEMBER OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS SERGEY DANCHEV IN SHENYANG

The Shenyang Art Museum presents a solo exhibition of works by the St. Petersburg artist, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Sergey Danchev. “The Four Seasons” exhibition features 76 pastel drawings and oil paintings produced by the artist in various years.
Sergey Danchev started his art education in 1996 in the Ivanovo Art College and continued his creative career at I. Repin St. Petersburg Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture where he majored in painting. Later, he upgraded his professional skills at the Painting Creative Workshop of the Russian Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg and at present is a teacher of I. Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Arts.
This is the first solo exhibition of the artist in China and the first exhibition of contemporary Russian art presented in the Shenyan Gallery opened in 2021. According to the Chinese curators: “the artist conveys Russian nature through his landscapes; his unique style is distinguished by emotional brush strokes, reserved color scheme, as well as powerful artistic expressiveness and charm”.
On July 12, 2024 in the Shenyang Art Museum there was a creative meeting with Sergey Danchev attended by the Consul of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Shenyang Nikolai K. Butorin; Professor of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Tsinghua, Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Honorary Doctor and Honorary Professor of I. Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Arts Wang Tenyu; the Director of Shenyang Art Museum, Director of the Shenyang Publishing and Art Institute Yu Chen; the Head of the Art Education Department of the Shanghai Pedagogical University Wang Jianfeng; the artist of the Chinese Academy of Oil Painting Huang Yuanpeng, as well as more than 60 artists from Liao Shen and pressmen. Besides, on July 12, 2024 the artist Sergey Danchev gave a master class in painting in the Popular Science Park in Shenyang.
