THE GENEALOGY OF THE PEREYASLAVETS – DRONOV DYNASTY OF ARTISTS: EXHIBITION IN TVER

The Russian Academy of Arts, the Ministry of Culture of the Tver Region, the Tver Regional Picture Gallery and Efrem Zverkov Gallery of Landscape present “The Genealogy” academic project  uniting five artists and three generations of the Pereyaslavets – Dronov creative dynasty. Two halls of Efrem Zverkov Gallery showcase paintings, graphic sheets, sculptures and works of monumental art of the Academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts Vladimir I. Pereyaslavets (1918-2018), Mikhail V. Pereyaslavets (1949-2020), Maria V. Pereyaslavets , as well as works of Anastasia Dronova and Xenia Dronova.

The founder of the dynasty – Vladimir I. Pereyaslavets (1918-2018) is a People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, pilot – veteran – artist whose fate has been closely connected with M. Grekov Studio of Artists. For him the studio work was usually the final stage of images’ creation. As a true military artist he drew inspiration from the military service to the Motherland. His son Mikhail shared his father’s creative searches and joined him in his trips to places of past battles and war conflicts. 

Mikhail Pereyaslavets (1949-2020) is a sculptor, People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Professor of V. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute, Head of M. Grekov Studio of Military Artists from 2008 till 2009. He has authored more than 50 monuments, memorial plaques, monumental and decorative compositions located in many cities of Russia.

Maria Pereyaslavets is a painter, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Member of the Artists’ Union of Russia. In her work she often turns to the theme of Alexander Pushkin. Working in the genre of portrait, landscape, still life she remains true to the traditions of Russian realistic art.

The third generation is represented by paintings and graphic works of Anastasia Dronova and Xenia Dronova who recently graduated from V. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute. At present, Anastasia is upgrading her skills at the Graphic Workshop of the Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow headed by the Academician Dmitry Sandzhiev.  The exhibition is a rare opportunity to see the creative legacy of the dynasty whose talented representatives have chosen their own path in art.
