MEMBERS OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS – PARTICIPANTS OF THE EXHIBITION “THE GRADUATION. THE HISTORY. V. SURIKOV INSTITUTE” IN MOSCOW

Venue: “Parking Gallery” of the Zaryadye park (6 Varvarka street, building 1)

 

The “Parking Gallery” presents an exhibition project showcasing works of several generations of teachers and students of V. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute. On display will be more than 200 canvases, graphic sheets and sculptural compositions of 180 authors including: the Active Member of the USSR Academy of Arts: Igor Grabar (1871-1960), Konstantin Yuon (1875-1958), Sergey Gerasimov (1885-1969), Alexander Deineka (1899-1969), Helium Korzhev (1925-2012); Academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts: Vadim Ryndin (1902-1974), Yury Kugach (1917-2013), Mikhail Kurilko-Ryumin (1923-2012), Lev Shepelev (1937-2013), Dmitry Zhilinsky (1927-2015), Tair Salakhov(1928-2021), Mikhail Pereyaslavets (1949-2020), Natalia Nesterova (1944-2022), Zurab Tsereteli, Anatoly Lyubavin, Tatyana Nazarenko, Vasily Nesterenko; Corresponding Member Nikolai Plastov (1930-2000) , Honorary Members Henry Manizer (1927-2016), Eric Bulatov and many others.   

 

V. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute is one of the successors of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, for dozens of years the Art Institute has trained more than six thousands of painters, sculptors, graphic artists, architects, restorers and art historians. The exhibition is a good opportunity to learn the Institute’s history and its unique legacy. The emphasis has been placed on the 1960s-1990s, when new departments and creative workshops were set up. During the history of the Institute many artistic dynasties were formed which continue the Institute’s connection with the history of Russian art for almost a century.
