TRANSMUTATION: SOLO EXHIBITION OF THE GRADUATE FROM THE CREATIVE WORKSHOPS OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS ALIM PASHT-KHAN IN LEIPZIG

The Koenitz Gallery presents the “Transmutation” exhibition of the People’s Artist of Kabardino- Balkaria, graduate of the Creative Workshops for Graphic Art of the Russian Academy of Arts Alim Pasht-Khan. On display are the artist’s graphic sheets, porcelain works and video-installations.
The strive for symbolism of images and refined aesthetics are the distinguished features of his works. The artist often fills the most trivial subjects with unusual vision: his art language is an original language of symbols with multi-meaning subtext giving the viewer a possibility to find his own interpretation of the author’s images. “Alim is a verbose artist. He needs a kind of story, not always a plot, but dynamically developing within the framework of the concrete type of fine arts. Alim Pash-Khan’s work is actively progressing, he is in constant search of new forms and materials for the implementation of his numerous ideas” – as art critics noted.
Alim Pasht-Khan has graduated from Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute and the Creative Workshop for Graphic Art of the Russian Academy of Arts in Krasnoyarsk, later he upgraded his skills in the Academy of Arts in Halle (Germany). The artist is a holder of the Gold and Silver Medals of the Russian Academy of Arts, a winner of many international competitions and participant of major international exhibitions. Alim Pasht-Khan is a master of various graphics and sculpture techniques, he creates media-objects and video installations. Alim Pasht-Khan is an author of the highest in the world porcelain vase “Arura” (Leuchtenburg Museum, Thuringen, Germany). The album of his lithographs “Fogliano” is in the collection of the Stuttgart State Gallery (Germany). The “Family” series of his porcelain works has been awarded the Silver Prize at the International exhibition-competition in South Korea and is in the Porcelain Museum in Icheon. His “Mutare” video installation received a prize of the International Media Art Festival “Cynet-art 2008” in Dresden.
