REFLECTING LIGHT: EXHIBITION OF WORKS BY LIKA TSERETELI AND TATYANA KOCHEMASOVAIN YAROSLAVL

The exhibition in Yaroslavl is being held as part of YarEthno Festival 2022 and presents paintings, graphic sheets and art glass works by the Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Lika Tsereteli and Academician Tatyana Kochemasova. Lika Tsereteli draws her inspiration in her sense of the beauty, love of work with fragile materials, aesthetics of transparent color glass transforming her sensations into fragile images of vases and vessels, as well as masterful graphic compositions. Tatyana Kochemasova fills her canvases with juicy, bright colors combining them with a firm brushstroke and simplicity. The exhibition of original works by these two artists resonates with urgent topics of traditional art and ornament, ecology of nature.
The exhibition was opened within the All-Russian Musical Festival “YarEthno 2022” that will take place in Yaroslavl On December 13-17, 2022 under the auspices of the President’s Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, the Russian Academy of Arts, Culture Department of the Yaroslavl Region and Culture Department of the City Hall of Yaroslavl. The Festival unites connoisseurs and performers of instrumental music of various ethno-groups. This unique project is aimed at strengthening the unity of diverse cultures of peoples of Russia basing on its national sources and traditions.
Elena Z. Tsereteli is an art historian and artist actively involved in the museum and exhibition, as well as editorial and publishing activities; Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts (2007); PhD in Art History (1986); Member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts (2007); Deputy Director for Exhibition Activity of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art; Director of the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts, Tsereteli Art Gallery (since 2000).
Tatyana A. Kochemasova is an art historian and artist; PhD in Art History; Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts (2011); Member of the Presidium and Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts; Head of the Scientific and Organizing Department of the RAA for Coordination of Programs of Fundamental Researches (since 2010); Deputy Head of the UNESCO International Chair for Fine Arts and Architecture (since 2011); Member of the Creative Artists’ Union of Russia.
