FROM THE MUSEUM FUND OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS: THE JUBILEE EXHIBITION PROJECT AT THE MUSEUM AND EXHIBITION COMPLEX OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS

From the Museum Fund of the Russian Academy of Arts is a theme exhibition project in honor of the 265th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Arts aimed at presenting the Academy’s collection of artworks containing more than 3000 pieces by outstanding masters of the second half of the 20th century. These are works by Corresponding Members and Academicians of the Academy donated by them as a gift to the Russian Academy of Arts for enrichment of the museum collection of the Academy. The Jubilee exhibition showcases works by Victor Kalinin, Pavel Nikonov, Tatyana Nazarenko, Zurab Tsereteli, Konstantin Khudyakov, Victor Glukhov, Yury Grigorian, Anna Birstein and others.
Many exhibition projects at the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts have resulted from major researches and explored urgent themes of art history, problems of aesthetics and ethics, evolution of genres and styles, various directions from classical academic to the latest trends, specific features of the development of academic art school today including the search of an artist for his own style and original language of self expression.
The Jubilee Exhibition focuses on easel painting revealing a wide range of approaches that modern artists of various generations apply to expand the usual borders of genres, techniques and technologies.
