GRAPHIC ART OF ZURAB TSERETELI. MAGIC REALISM: EXHIBITION IN ULAN-BATOR

On April 19, 2022 the Mongolian National Gallery presented a solo exhibition of the President of the Russian Academy of Arts, People's Artist of Russia, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Zurab Tsereteli, which has been organized as a response to the invitation of the Mongolian Minister of Culture Mr. Baatarbileg to show the art of the Russian Academy of Arts to Mongolian viewers and is the first exhibition of Zurab Tsereteli in Mongolia. The exhibition features 42 works by the world renowned master executed in the technique of color serigraphy, as well as photographs of his famous monuments standing in Paris, New York, Moscow and many other cities around the world.
The exhibition organizers are: the Academician and Deputy Head of the Urals, Siberia and Far East Regional Department of the Russian Academy of Arts Mikhail Y. Shishin; Director of the Mongolian National Gallery B. Sarantuya; Rector of the Mongolian Academy of Fine Arts Dr. D. Uranchimeg; Russian Center for Science and Culture - "Russian House" (V. V. Kilpyakova) and the Foundation for Peace and Universal Harmony.
The opening ceremony has been attended by the Deputy Culture Minister of Mongolia M. Batbayar, Rector of the Mongolian Academy of Fine Arts Dr. D. Uranchimeg, Acting Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture V.V. Kilpyakova, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts M.Y. Shishin, representatives of the Mongolian Ministry of Education and Science, Head of the Artists' Union of Mongolia P. Gambat, leading Mongolian figures of culture. The Scientific Council of the Mongolian Academy of Fine Arts elected Zurab Tsereteli as an Honorary Doctor of the Academy.
"The exhibition has been of unprecedented interest, - says Mikhail Shishin. Many Mongolian contemporary noted artists, who are mostly graduates of the Russian Academy Art Institutes, did not believe until the last monument, that the exhibition would be shown in Ulan Bator. It is amazing how deep and accurate the Mongolian viewers perceived the works by Zutab Tsereteli. They thanked the organizers for the rare opportunity to get acquainted with the art by the one of the leaders of contemporary world art".
Taking into account the great interest of the Mongolian public in the work of Zurab Tsereteli the exhibition will be also displayed at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in the Mongolian capital.
