MOSCOW SEASONS: EXHIBITION OF THE PEOPLE’S ARTIST OF RUSSIA LYUBOV SAVELIEVA IN ST. PETERSBURG

The Museum of Art Glass in Elagin Island in St. Petersburg presents the solo exhibition of the Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, People’s Artist of Russia Lyubov Savelieva “Moscow Seasons. Lyubov Savelieva. Art Glass. Graphics”. It is the 3rd exhibition from the Moscow Seasons cycle that shows the works of leading Moscow art glass artists to residents and guests of St. Petersburg.

 

The life and creative work of Lyubov Savelieva is a vivid embodiment of the history of Russian culture of the second half of the 20th – the first quarter of the 21st centuries. She has absorbed the spiritual and artistic searches that symbolize the 1960s with their fresh air of freedom and innovations in art. Lyubov Savelieva is well-known for her original art glass works, but she also successfully works with faience, reveals herself in painting and graphics, writes poems. In each genre and material the artist finds extraordinary solutions and produces unique artworks. Her love for literature the sense of rhythm, sound and word has resulted in the creation of a special synthetic phenomenon of the unity of the image and word which found both the artistic and literary recognition.

 

However, her main material is glass. Her art glass works have been highly appreciated by numerous prizes and diplomas of Russian and international organizations, including the most prestigious award – “Rakow Comission” (1990). They are in museum and private collections of Russia, USA, Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain, Sweden and many other countries.
