EXHIBITION OF BORIS MESSERER IN THE THEATER GALLERY IN MALAYA ORDYNKA
Venue: Theater Gallery in Malaya Ordynka,
9 Malaya Ordynka street, build. 1, Moscow
The name of the exhibition “…St. Petersburg, White Nights, Landscapes…” of the renowned set designer, painter and graphic artist, People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Boris Messerer contains a line from the poem of Bulat Okudjava and gives a poetic spirit corresponding to the aesthetics of the exhibition itself.
In the harmonious silence of desert landscapes of St. Petersburg in white nights Boris Messerer discovers new unexpected angles and rhythms in the perception of the city. On display are canvases, water colors and graphic portraits of the northern capital created by the artist from the 1950s up to 2019. Many of them are exhibited for the first time. Two years ago some of the works were shown by the artist in Anna Akhmatova Museum in St. Petersburg.
