The Heart on the Palette: Exhibition of Works by the People’s Artist of Russia Zurab Tsereteli in Lipetsk

The Lipetsk Regional Art Museum presents a solo exhibition of the People’s Artist of the USSR and Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Zurab Tsereteli timed to the 260th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Arts.

The exhibition “The Heart on the Palette” features 39 works: 10 enamels and 29 paintings produced by the artist from 2001-2014.  The strength of character and amazing energy, the audacity of the experimenter and unexpected artistic view make up a portrait of the master, who through his creative searches managed to combine almost all genres, types and techniques of fine arts. The knowledge of himself and the world is a basis of Zurab Tsereteli’s creative concept. The geography of his monumental works covers the territory of many countries, including the United States, Great Britain, Spain, France, Japan, etc.

The artist’s paintings containing his inner aspiration for the harmony are distinguished by clear expression and color saturation. Of special interest are the master’s 3-D enamels. Zurab Tsereteli has revived the technique of a cloisonné enamels and perfected the technology of creating such enamels which expanded the possibilities for their use in monumental art.
