Sergey Andriyaka Academy and School of Water Color: Exhibition in the Manezh Exhibition Hall
The exhibition “Sergey Andriyaka Academy and School of Water Color” to be held under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Moscow City Department of Culture in the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall (1 Manezh Square, Moscow) fr om April 6, 2017 – May 5, 2017 is timed to the fifth anniversary of Sergey Andriyaka Academy.
The exhibition for the first time in Russia shows the achievements of the system of art education from school to the Academy founded and headed by the People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Sergey Andriyaka and presents works by Sergey Andriyaka, artists-teachers, students of the Academy and School of Water Color, as well as gifted children of the “Sirius” Education Center wh ere the Academy’s teachers work. On display are more than 400 exhibits produced in various techniques and types – drawings, water colors, oil and tempera painting, pastels, animal sculptures, stained glasses, mosaics, ceramics, porcelain, painting on ceramics and porcelain, jewellery, miniatures, book illustrations, etc.
Sergey Andriyaka is known in Russia as a distinguished master of classical layered watercolor, simultaneously he is actively involved in teaching activity, is an author of an efficient method of teaching water color art for children and grown-ups. All the teachers of the Academy are working artists, participants of many exhibitions and art programs in Russia and other countries.
The exhibition will be accompanied by over 30 multi-media screens with video-films presenting the activity of the Academy and School of Water Color. The program of the exhibition offers excursions, free lessons, master-classes in watercolor and other types of applied art, presentation of training AIDS, concerts and meetings with artists and figures of culture.
Within the framework of the exhibition in Manezh there will be a conference on the problems of modern art education involving the Rector of the School and Academy of Water Color Sergey Andriyaka and representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education of the RF.
At week-ends Sergey Andriyaka will give his masterclasses in watercolor painting and share his experience in teaching methods. The exhibition is being held under the support of “Severstal” company.
