Such Wonderful Essence of Life: Solo Show of Works by the People’s Artist of Russia Lyubov Savelieva in Ramenskoye

Organized by the Russian Academy of Arts, Ministry of Culture of the Moscow Region and Committee for Culture and Tourism of the Ramenskoye Municipal District, the solo show in the History and Art Museum in Ramenskoye features art glass works, ceramics and poems-graphics by the People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Lyubov Savelieva.

The creative work by Lyubov Savelieva has been appreciated by prestigious awards and prizes of Russian and international organizations, her works have been exhibited at numerous art shows, competitions and symposiums on art glass in Russia and other countries and are in collections of major museums in Russia and CIS countries, art galleries in the United States, Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain, Sweden and other European countries, as well as in private collections.

Lyubov Savelieva was born in Moscow in 1940. In 1966 she graduated from the Moscow Higher College of Arts and Industry. Savelieva is a recognized master of art glass who continued the unique tradition of art glass sculpture created by the celebrated Soviet sculptor Vera Mukhina.  Lyubov Savelieva works with colored glass in the art of sintering and bending glass, often combines glass with metal. Well-known are her series “Alexander Pushkin”, “My Contemporaries”, “Chairs”, “My Neighbors” and many others.  

The exhibition in Ramenskoye presents the artist’s art glass, ceramics and graphic works of various years and is a good opportunity to see the wide range of her creative searches and experiments.
